A retired teacher was struck and killed by a New Jersey Transit bus in Camden on her way to church Sunday, and her daughter witnessed the fatal accident.
Shambra Rollins, 64, was killed when she was hit by the bus on South Broadway, near Royden Street, about 1 p.m., CBS Philly reports.
Rollins taught special education in South Jersey and Philadelphia for 35 years before she retired.
Rollins' daughter told police she saw her mother wave for the bus, then stop. She watched as she claims the bus driver accelerated and ran a red light before striking her mother.
Police are investigating the cause of the accident. No charges have been filed against the driver.
