Aguirre-Alonso told friends that she had witnessed the murder and was reportedly cooperating with police to identify the alleged shooter shortly before she was killed.

Neighbors said that Aldea was part of a crew who allegedly dealt drugs on the 3300 block of Mascher Street. He was sentenced to six months of probation in September of 2010 after pleading nolo contendre to drug possession and given six months' probation in December of 2010 for escape. He was out on bail for firearms violations after posting $2,000 Jan. 11 and has a long rap sheet that includes drug charges.
