School lunch menu: Knuckle sandwich

CHESTER – A teenage cafeteria worker at a city charter school allegedly punched a third-grader in the face during an altercation on the school’s playground earlier this week, police said Thursday.

Jorge Alvarado-Barbosa, according to reports, allegedly punched an 8-year-old boy as a fight occurred outside on the grounds of Chester Community Charter School early Monday afternoon. Police said the 18-year-old could be seen on a surveillance camera restraining the young boy during a fight, then off-camera allegedly hit him, according to online reports.

Alvarado-Barbosa, of the 1100 block of Potter Street in Chester, was immediately suspended and would likely be fired, the school CEO told NBC10, according to an online report.
