Scott Brown ‘clothes’ comments rattle Dems and Twitter

State Democrats wasted no time slamming Sen. Scott Brown for comments the freshman legislator made during a radio appearance Thursday.

The republican senator called in to a WZLX morning show and made comments about the physical appearance of one of his challengers, Democrat Elizabeth Warren.

“Sen. Brown’s comments are the kind of thing you would expect to hear in a frat house, not a race for U.S. Senate. We keep waiting for Scott Brown to take his campaign out of the gutter,” said Mass. Democratic Party Executive Director Clare Kelly.

The exchange occurred during a discussion focused on Brown posing for Cosmopolitan magazine decades ago.

He was asked a question about a comment made by Warren during a debate this week when she said that she didn’t have remove her clothes to pay for college.

“Have you officially responded to Elizabeth Warren’s comments about how she didn’t take her clothes off,” the DJs asked Brown.

“Thank God,” Brown said.

Brown’s reply caused laughter among the DJs. “That’s what I said,” one of them replied.

“The bottom line is I didn’t go to Harvard. I went to the school of hard knocks. I did whatever I had to do to pay for school,” said Brown. “You know, whatever. Let them throw stones.”

Brown’s campaign said it was elitist for Warren, a Harvard professor, to look down on Brown’s decisions, according to the Globe.
