Family members and friends of a recent Boston University graduate Eric Munsell are searching for him since he went missing Saturday.
Family members and friends of a recent Boston University graduate are searching for him since the 24-year-old went missing after a night out celebrating his birthday.
Eric Munsell, who lives in the North End, was last seen Saturday night by friends who had joined him at Market on Broad Street to celebrate his birthday, according to Boston police and his family and friends.
"This kid is not a troublemaker. This kid is the most straight-laced kid in the world. It makes no sense that he just disappeared. He doesn't show up to work... [Monday]? No way. That's not Eric. Something bad happened," Munsell's father, Keith Munsell, said during a telephone interview as he checked into a Boston area hotel. He and Munsell's mother came to Boston to help in the search.
Munsell graduated from Boston University in 2012 and works for General Electric, his father said.
Boston police put out a missing person alert on Monday asking for the public's help to locate Munsell. They described Munsell as about 6 feet 1 inch tall, about 180 pounds and having a scar on his left cheek. Police said he was last seen wearing a blue checkered shirt and blue jeans.
Friends have created a Facebook page to gather support to locate Munsell.
One of his friends who created the group, Peter, said they were out at Market celebrating Munsell's birthday when he left the bar about 11:30 p.m.
"We don't know where he went after he left the bar," said Peter, who did not want to give his last name.
Munsell's father said police are looking at video from the bar to see if they can figure out where Munsell went.
"He's a way better person than I am. There is just zero percent chance he doesn't tell somebody where he is. ... He is the most responsible kid in the world. He was in a great mood all night," his father said.
