Shots fired at Philadelphia police officers in Upper Darby

The incident began about 2 a.m. Thursday when Philadelphia police officers tried to pull over a car in West Philly.

Philadelphia police officers were the targets of a gunman in Upper Darby Township early Thursday.

 

The incident began a little before 2 a.m. in West Philadelphia, where police tried to pull over a car that allegedly had illegal window tint and was being operated in an erratic manner, 6ABC Action News reported. Police followed the car to 69th and Walnut streets, where a passenger in the vehicle fired a gun at police after exiting the car.

 

The involved officers were not injured, and they did not return fire on the suspect, whowas arrested following a search of the area by Philadelphia and Upper Darby police.

 

Police recovered the firearm believed used in the incident, but the driver remains at large.
