Snow is expected to fall in the Philadelphia area sometime Tuesday.
The National Weather Service has issued a winter storm watch for Philadelphia from 7 a.m. Tuesday to 1 a.m. Wednesday. The forecast currently calls for 3 to 5 inches of snow for the city, with the accumulation mainly occurring between 1 and 11 p.m.
Winds will range from 9 to 20 mph during the day and night Tuesday, according to NWS, making it feel even colder than it will be. The high temperature is expected to be 24 and the low 9 on Tuesday, but the wind chill will be as low as -6 on Tuesday night.
The polar vortex that gripped the Delaware Valley with below-freezing temperatures is headed back. Wednesday's high will be 19, and the Philadelphia area is not expected to see temperatures above freezing again until Saturday.
