"It’s a great redemption story in a place that has been notoriously known for many years for sex trafficking and prostitution," Rev. Reggie Stutzman saidon Wednesday. "It went on sale on Friday and we’re just going after it."
The pastor of the Real Life Church currently holds worship services at the Hunts Point Recreation Center in the South Bronx but has begun a grassroots fundraising effort to buy out the five-year lease of the former Platinum Pleasures nightclub.
The owner has signaled a willingness to bring the million-dollar price tag down once he has liquidated some of his assets at the club, Stutzman said, adding:"He just has a lot of high end equipment that obviously we’re not going to use."
