Spitzer debut gets rotten tomatoes

The debut of disgraced ex-governor of New York, Eliot Spitzer, as co-anchor of a prime-time CNN talk show with journalist Kathleen Parker received scathing reviews, with comments yesterday ranging from “unbearable” to “icky” and “obnoxious.”

Spitzer resigned in 2008 after being caught hiring high-priced prostitutes.

The New York Times said the Spitzer scandal “cast an awkward shadow” over the pair’s chemistry and gave the show an “ickiness factor” that was hard to watch.

The New York Post headlined its review: “Freak show unbearable to watch.”
