Update: The New York state Department of Health announced late Wednesday night they have ended their investigation into Lenox Hill Hospital. After receiving two complaints that the hospital gave preferential treatment to Beyonce and Jay-Z while shutting out other patients, the state announced they were investigating the hospital yesterday.
But last night, a state spokesman said they reviewed the complaints and found Lenox Hill did nothing wrong. Lenox Hill is still conducting its own investigation into the controversy.

The New York State Health Department launched an investigation yesterday into two complaints that Lenox Hill Hospital gave Beyonce and Jay-Z special treatment Saturday while allegedly shutting out other families eager to see their newborns.
Barbara Osborn, a Lenox Hill spokeswoman, confirmed the investigation to Metro. “We’re cooperating fully,” she said.
Osborn also said reports of Jay-Z and Beyonce dropping $1.3 million to rent out an entire hospital floor are “wildly off.” Instead, she said, they paid for an executive suite, costing about $700 to $800 for each of the four nights they stayed at the Upper East Side hospital.
The complaints came after the pop-star couple reportedly had a bulletproof door installed outside Beyonce’s hospital room, as well windows blackened and security guards patrolling their hospital floor.
The two complaints reportedly did not come from parents. But several New York City parents haven’t been shy about voicing their fury over Beyonce and Jay-Z’s baby mania.
Bedford-Stuyvesant father Neil Coulon said security blocked him from seeing his newborn twin girls, born premature, at the hospital’s Neo-natal Intensive Care Unit.
“These are parents who are going through very stressful times. To have that circus roll into town, having to deal with all this drama because someone is a superstar, isn’t fair,” Coulon told the New York Post.
But Osborn said they conferred with seven of 10 parents whose babies were in the NICU, on the same floor as Beyonce’s wing.
“None of them reported to us being stopped from seeing their babies,” she said. “They did say that they saw enhanced security, but none felt restricted access.”
