Boston, and the state of Massachusetts, have been called a lot of things.
This summer alone, we have been ranked the worst dressed, the most angry and the best in sports.
But Gawker.com has ranked the Bay State the 49th worst in the country.
Not so bad, right?
Well, they also call the city specifically “a Volvo-driving leftie mecca” that is
notoriously racially segregated and class divided.
The gossip blog, while going easy on Bostonians and putting Massachusetts in the 49th slot out of all 50 ranked states, also took a hit at the city’s sports teams and its fans.
Dubbing Red Sox supporters as “the worst” in sports, Gawker.com claimed that anyone could have a stellar line-up like the Sox if they had “millions and millions of dollars” to pump into a team.
Gawker.com did tip its had to Massachusetts for being the first to legalize same-sex marriage in 2004, but the compliment was mixed with a touch of cynicism, calling the law “evidence of said liberalism.”
