A Staten Island man was arrested and charged with filing a false report after he told police his toddler son had been kidnapped over the weekend.

Terry Liaros, 46, told police on Sunday night that his Toyota 4Runner was stolen as he was unloading groceries with his son still in the SUV's backseat.

Minutes after Liaros called the cops, investigators said they found the boy unharmed less than two blocks away after he wandered from the home.

The car was found soon after with the engine still running.

The New York Post reported surveillance video near where the car was found showed Liaros driving the SUV in search of the boy an hour before he went home and reported the car stolen.
