A stray bullet reportedly struck a man in Olney in the back early Monday morning.

The man, 27, was playing Xbox in his second-floor bedroom at the time, ABC reported.

According to police, gunfire erupted at 3rd and Sparks streets, a full city block from the man's home on the 100 blocks of Sparks Street.

A bullet traveled from that intersection through a side wall of his home and hit the victim in the back around 7:45 a.m. on Monday, Dec. 23.

Police say the man first noticed a burning pain and then saw blood, and realized he had been shot.

Police found two vehicles at that intersection which had also been struck by gunfire.

The victim was brought to Albert Einstein Medical Center and was reportedly in stable condition.

The victim, who was alone in his house at the time, had just celebrated his birthday on Sunday.

Anyone with any information about the shooting is being asked to call 911.
