Street signs delayed

The state might not get its new street signs soon. In September, the government required a remake of the signs, which will no longer carry only uppercase letters. The reader-friendly guidelines set a deadline of 2018, but cash-strapped cities are rebelling. New York officials estimate that replacing 250,000 signs would cost $27.5 million.
