Sunset Grill employee stabbed in back alley

An employee at Sunset Grill and Tap in Allston was allegedly stabbed with a 12-inch carving knife outside of the restaurant after finishing a shift early Monday morning.

Police responded to Brighton Avenue around 1:52 a.m. after receiving a call that the victim, an employee at Sunset, was stabbed in the lower back area.

According to police reports, the employee had clocked out of work at 1 a.m and exited the rear of the restaurant, where a suspect allegedly pulled out a knife and stabbed him.

The victim sustained non-life threatening lacerations and was transported to Beth Israel Hospital, according to reports.

According to police, the suspect said in Spanish “I don’t care, they deported me once already,” after stabbing the victim. The suspect then allegedly threw the knife at the victim as he fled inside.

A 12-inch knife was located in the dumpster behind the restaurant, according to police.

A suspect was not arrested, however, reports indicate it may have allegedly been the employees cousin.

According to reports, the owner and manager will review video surveillance from behind the restaurant to see if it was captured on video.
