Police are asking for the public's help identifying and locating a man they say tried to rape a woman in East Harlem early Sunday morning.
The suspect approached the victim about 3:30 a.m. and pushed her inside a residential building, police said. He then pushed her to the ground and tried to rape her. When the woman, 34, screamed for help, the suspect fled.
Anyone with information about this incident is asked to call Crime Stoppers at 1-800-577-TIPS (8477). The public can also submit their tips by logging onto the Crime Stoppers website or by texting their tips to 274637 (CRIMES) then entering TIP577.
