Police are searching for a man they say robbed two Manhattan businesses and attempted to rob two others all in one day.
In each of the incidents, the suspect passed a note and demanded cash. He first targeted a Chase Bank on Seventh Avenue near 37th Street just before 10 a.m. on March 8. He fled without any cash.
The suspect then entered a FedEx store on 35th Street where he fled the location with an unknown amount of cash. At about 1:50 p.m., the robber entered a Modell’s store on Broadway near Liberty Street. He demanded cash but fled without any money. Finally, he robbed an IHOP restaurant on Varick Street at about 2:45 p.m. He fled with an unknown amount of cash.
No injuries were reported. The suspect is described as a black male, about 5 foot 7 inches tall and weighing about 160 lbs.
