Metro’s original story is below:

Four suspects were taken into custody Tuesday night in connection with Philip Seymour Hoffman’s death, according to police.

Officers raided a East Village apartment building in Manhattan around 7 p.m. after receiving a tip that a dealer who sold to the actor was there.

A search warrant was obtained prior to the raid, police said, and heroin was found in the Mott Street apartments.

Police said charges against the four were pending.

Hoffman was found in the bathroom of his Bethune Street apartment Sunday, dead from an apparent overdose.

Heroin was also found in his apartment, but preliminary testing reportedly did not find fentanyl, a powerful pain reliever recently linked to dozens of deaths.

An autopsy on Hoffman’s body was planned for Tuesday night, according to the medical examiner.
