T cops seek trio for alleged homophobic assault

Transit Police are asking the public’s help in identifying three young people who allegedly assaulted and made homophobic slurs at a 27-year-old man on the Orange Line this week.

The unidentified people were caught on surveillance cameras and their images were released on a wanted poster today.

The man was about to board an Orange Line train at State Street about 10 p.m. Sunday when a Hispanic man wearing a red t-shirt around his neck and a white hat shoved him as the doors opened, according to police.

The man, as well as another man, “directed several homophobic slurs at the victim after shoving him,” police said.

The men, and a female companion, continued to harass the man about his sexual orientation before they fled at Haymarket station.

Police are seeking the trio’s identification for the assault and battery and civil right’s violation.

Anyone with information can call police at 617-222-1050 or 617-222-1212.
