T Police investigate stabbing at Blue Line stop

The MBTA had to temporarily suspend service at the State Street stop on Sunday night after a man was allegedly stabbed near the entrance to the train.

According to MBTA officials, around 9:40 p.m., a 20-year-old male from Dorchester was stabbed at the lower mezzanine entrance to the Blue Line platform.

The victim was transported to Massachusetts General Hospital with non-life threatening injuries.

The station remained closed until the end of service Sunday night and the Blue Line and Orange Line service bypassed the station while police were at the scene.

The station reopened at start of service Monday morning.

The incident remains under investigation by the Transit Police Criminal Investigations Unit, according to reports.
