Davis said the cameras are monitored at multiple locations, including Transit Police headquarters and the MBTA Operations Control Center.
Additional security enhancements include intrusion detection systems in the rail yard.
Davis also said the number of cameras at Jackson Station has more than tripled, from four to 15.
The upgrades cost roughly $963,000---money that was funded through grants from the Department of Homeland Security.
