The MBTA will move ahead with plans to build a safety training center under South Boston on the old Broadway Station platform.
The MBTA’s Emergency Training Center will replicate an "active transit environment," complete with a mock platform and classrooms for first responder training.
The project comes with a $5.7 million price tag, but according to MBTA officials, it is completely eligible for reimbursement through the Department of Homeland Security’s Transit Security Grant Program.
