Taxi driver carjacked in South Philadelphia

The crime happened just after 2 a.m. at the Hess gas station on the 600 block of South Broad Street.

A taxi driver was robbed and carjacked in South Philadelphia early Wednesday.

 

The crime happened just after 2 a.m. at the Hess gas station on the 600 block of South Broad Street, 6ABC Action News reports.

 

The All City Taxi driver was robbed then shoved by the suspect, who hopped in the taxi and fled the gas station. The cab was later spotted in the 5600 block of Diamond Street in Wynnefield, where the suspect tried to ram a Philadelphia police cruiser.

 

The suspect crashed into several parked cars before fleeing on foot in the area of 58th Street and Melvin Avenue.Police were unable to locate the suspect.
