A teenage boy is healing from wounds suffered after a green taxi struck him in Harlem Sunday.
The unnamed 13-year-old victim was riding his chrome-colored bicycle on West 108th Street near Manhattan Avenue when an outer-borough minivan taxi ran into him.
Police said the preliminary investigation showed the boy might have disobeyed a red light as the taxi made its way down Manhattan Avenue.
Authorities said the boy was rushed to Harlem Hospital Center soon after the collision, and that the 57-year-old cab driver remained at the scene.
The boy, who was said to not have been wearing a helmet, reportedly underwent surgery and remained in critical but stable condition as of early Monday.
Investigators said they don't believe any criminality was involved in the accident.
On Thursday, Upper West Side residents gathered at 95th Street and West End Avenue to pay respect to four pedestrians who were struck and killed in the last 7 months within two blocks of the intersection.
