Mayor Thomas Menino and Police Commissioner Ed Davis are again promoting the “Text-a-Tip” program to get more clues to crimes in the city, this time with more aggressive advertising.
Posters and billboards will soon go up in MBTA cars and at 50 bus shelters around Boston to target areas that have been plagued by violence this summer.
The initiative encourages citizens to send in information they may know about unsolved crimes.
A PSA will also be airing on the Fenway Jumbotron during Red Sox pregames for the rest of the season and police will distribute 5,000 brochures throughout the community.
