The Tavern’s always greener …

New York’s own Tavern on the Green, which closed in 2009, might become a global chain.

New York’s own Tavern on the Green, which closed in 2009, might become a global chain. Reuters reported yesterday that an investor offered $1.3 million for the “Tavern on the Green” name, which he would use to build a business selling salad dressing.

Louis Bivona said he would model his business off of Paul Newman, the actor who created salad dressings to benefit charity. He plans to give 50 cents of every $28.95 salad dressing bottle to the National Center for Missing and Exploited Children.
