Worshipers at a Holyoke church got a shock during their Sunday service when a thief entered the building and robbed them at gunpoint.

A masked man entered the Pentecostal Church on Appleton Street and notified church-goers they were being robbed, MassLive.com reports.

"He told them it was a robbery," Police Lt. James M. Albert said. "They were all in fear."

Albert described the thief as skinny, short and Hispanic wearing a black T-shirt, pants and hat.

Anyone with information is asked to call police at (413) 322-6900.
