Philadelphia police say two thieves stole nearly $77,000 from an ATM repairman's car in North Philadelphia on Tuesday afternoon.

The theft occurred on the 1000 block of West Susquehanna Avenue about 4:15 p.m.

The victim was inside Rose Garden Chinese-American Food takeout restaurant completing a repair on an ATM when he remembered he had not locked the doors to his personal vehicle. He discovered a bag containing $76,780 missing when he returned to his car to lock the doors, police said.

Police were still waiting on surveillance video from the area Wednesday morning.
