Thieves steal donation box from Lower East Side church

Police are searching for two thieves who stole a collection box with money in it from a Lower East Side church last week.

The thieves entered Our Lady of Sorrows Church, located at 213 Stanton St., about 7:20 p.m. on Thursday. They snatched the donation box and fled the church. No injuries were reported in the incident.

It is not clear how much money was in the box. Police have released surveillance photos of both suspects.
