WalkBoston, a non-profit dedicated to improving walking conditions, is throwing Step On It, its first ever sidewalk scavenger hunt in Downtown Boston this weekend.
Hunters will meet at 2 p.m. Saturday at Scholars Bistro on School Street before embarking on the hour-and-a-half long quest.
Using sidewalk clues and a tip sheet, teams of up to five people will be challenged to find 15 “secret objects” hidden on local-area sidewalks. Once the treasure is found, hunters must then take a picture with each object.
There are, however, strict rules: Every picture must be on the same phone or camera, and every team member must have one foot in the picture – that means no splitting up.
The team that finds and documents each item, then returns to Scholars Bistro first, wins.
Answers will be revealed and the winning team crowned at 4 p.m. Teams are competing for a $50 gift card to Scholars Bistro, a Harpoon gift basket and more.
It costs $5.00 with $1.27 fee to participate. Those interested in joining can sign up here.
If you plan to Step On It, you’ll need:
1) A team of 1-5 friends, complete with an original team name
2) A digital camera, or a camera phone
3) Water
4) A team uniform is optional, but according to organizers, “creativity will be rewarded.”
