Three arrested for illegal speakeasy operation in South Philly

Three Philadelphia men were arrested and charged for illegally operating speakeasies in South Philadelphia, members of Citywide Vice announced today.

Tonino Irace, 69, of Glenolden, Canio Pascale, 66, of Philadelphia, and Zoheir Mouloudj, 44, also of Philadelphia, were all charged with illegal liquor sales. Irace and Pascale were additionally charged with criminal conspiracy

Citywide Vice searched Caffe Italia, located at 1424 Snyder Avenue, and Mediterranean's of South Philly, at 1426 McKean Street. They confiscated from Cafe Italia: $584 in cash, 129 bottles of beer and liquor, a cash register and other items. From Mediterranean's, they confiscated: $17,528 in cash, 181 bottles of beer and liquor and other items.
