After nearly two weeks, three people have been charged in the Center City gay couple beating, announced the Philadelphia District Attorney's Office.
Philip Williams, 24, Kevin Harrigan, 24, and Katherine Knott, 24, — all from Bucks County — have been charged with aggravated assault, simple assault, recklessly endangering another person and criminal conspiracy.
District Attorney Seth Williams said the public helped with an "outpouring of information and tips."
"This vicious attack shocked the entire country," Williams said in a statement. "An assault on people because of their sexual orientation has no place in Philadelphia."
On Sept. 11, around 10:45 p.m., two gay men were attacked by a group of people near 16th and Chancellor streets. Surveillance video showed a group of about 10 or 15 women they said may be responsible for the attack.
