Three students at Rye High School charged with hazing

Three students at Rye High School in Westchester County are facing criminal charges for alleged hazing, as part of a ritual at the school known as “Freshman Friday.”

Sean Pinson and Tristan Scragg, both 17, and Max Meyerson, 16, are accused of forcing several 8th graders who will be freshmen next year into a car on Friday. The teens then allegedly drove the boys to a wooded area and beat two of them with a paddle, according to reports.

The alleged incident is reportedly part of Freshman Friday, where incoming high school students are singled out and hazed.

The teens were charged with felony assault, since investigators say the younger teens were covered in welts and bruises.
