MANHATTAN – A top aide to former governor of New York David Paterson, David Johnson, pleaded guilty in court yesterday to shoving his girlfriend when the two got into a fight over her Halloween outfit on Oct. 31, 2009.
His ex-girlfriend, Sherruna Booker, told police Johnson choked and threatened to kill her. Booker also said Paterson urged her not to press charges against Johnson. The scandal forced Paterson not to seek re-election last year.
