Transit Police: Bleach, knife used in MBTA bus fight

MBTA bus. MBTA bus.

MBTA Transit Police are on the hunt for the people responsible for slashing the neck of a bus passenger in Dorchester, and throwing bleach in the face of another Friday afternoon.

The violence followed what police said was an “altercation” on a Route 23 bus around 4:30 p.m. A group of youths stepped off the bus near Washington and Park Streets, where the fight continued.

Transit Police said they found one person to have a slash on the back of his neck – a non-threatening injury – and another victim apparently had bleach thrown onto them. They were both treated for their injuries.

According to police, “The altercation originated on the bus apparently between two opposing groups.”

Police are investigating. Anyone with information may call the Criminal Investigation Unit at 617-222-1050.
