A tractor-trailer driver was critically injured early Wednesday in a crash that caused a traffic jam on I-95 in Northeast Philadelphia.
The accident happened in the southbound lanes near the exit for Woodhaven Road about 4:30 a.m., 6ABC Action News reported. The tractor-trailer overturned along the side of the road when the driver lost control of the vehicle.
The accident backed up traffic for several miles at the height of the morning rush. Only one lane of southbound I-95 was open for several hours as police investigated the crash and the accident debris was cleared.
The driver had to be extricated from the truck.
