City representatives and hospitality leaders will on Tuesday hold a "Taxi Appreciation Day" event at the Broad Street entrance of the Pennsylvania Convention Center aspart of the National Travel and Tourism Week and the U.S. Travel Rally Day.

An estimated 400 to 500 cab drivers will stop by the Convention Center to grab appreciation swag bags with tickets and giveaways from the Philadelphia Convention and Visitors Bureau.

"Taxis are one of the first representatives of Philadelphia that visitors to the city encounter and Taxi Appreciation Day serves to thank the taxi community for their hard work and continued commitment to the city," the PHLCVB said in a release.

Those who wish to follow tweets from the event are invited to use the hashtag #VoteTravel.
