Two arrested in teen slayings

Two men were arrested early yesterday morning and charged with the fatal shooting of two teens at a birthday party in the Tremont section of the Bronx.

Robert Mitchell, 24, and Dexter Green, 20, were charged with the murder of Quanisha Marie Wright, 16, and Marvin Wiggins, 15. Mitchell and Green showed up uninvited to a toddler’s birthday party Saturday night.

Partygoers beat up one of the shooters after he harassed a young woman there, according to reports, and the two men left, vowing to return with a gun.

They came back to the Weeks Ave. home at about 2 a.m. Sunday armed and started shooting. Both Wright and Wiggins died protecting others from the spray of bullets reportedly by placing themselves between loved ones and gunmen.

Mitchell and Green were caught running from the scene of the crime, and were arrested after questioning, said police. Police also found a .45-caliber gun nearby.
