The Transit Police Department revealed an amusing exchange on its blog Wednesday, saying the department recently received a call from two apparently drunk men demanding money because their commuter train made them late for work Monday.

Police wrote that the men, "originally referred to as Dumb & Dumber until we were overruled by a higher authority," told dispatch they read "about the chick cop who stopped the pit bull to save the train."

According to police, one of the callers claimed, in between obscenities, "We were on the train, because you all stopped the train we were delayed, dismayed and didn't get paid. We want our fare refunded plus 50 dollars for pain and suffering."

Transit Police located the men, allegedly passed out with two half consumed vodka bottles at their feet, at Downtown Crossing Station. The pair was removed from the station, police said, which drew "cheers and applause of several MBTA patrons."
