Rios and Letts, both detectives, were following up on a domestic incident this morning. They arrived at a home on Hobart Avenue around 8:43 a.m. today, reports said. They were surprised by the suspect, who was leaving the home. The victim in the incident said "That's him" to the officers. Then the suspect opened fire.
The two detectives were wounded during the gunfire.
This comes two days after Philadelphia police officer Edward Davies was shot in the abdomen after a traffic stop turned ugly. Davies remains in critical condition after multiple surgeries.
