Unrelated citywide shootings kill 3, injure at least 12

At least 13 people were reported shot — and three killed — across the boroughs over the weekend, including a 10-year-old boy still in recovery after a gun shot wound to his leg.

 

 

 

Bronx

Investigators questioned a man in connection to the deadly shooting of a 24-year-old man near University Avenue and West 195th Street in the Bronx at around 5 a.m. Sunday.

Police said the victim died from a gunshot wound to his back after he was rushed to Saint Barnabas Hospital. NYPD apprehended a 29-year-old male for questioning and recovered a .9mm firearm.

Brooklyn

Another man died after a shooting in Brownsville early Sunday morning. Police arrived at 93 Tapscott St. at around 4:26 a.m. to find three victims, including a 28-year-old who succumbed to a gunshot wound to the back after he was rushed to the Brookdale University Hospital and Medical Center.

A 27 year-old woman also suffered from a gunshot wound to her foot, and a 31 year-old man sustained a gunshot wound to the leg. Both were taken to local hospitals where police said they remain in stable condition.

In Coney island, cops said that an unidentified shooter took aim towards 2321 Mermaid Ave. at around 7:20 p.m., injuring the boy above his right knee and a 25-year-old male in the abdomen.

Police said the two victims were not together but both were rushed to Lutheran Medical Center in stable condition. Authorities described the suspect as a male, wearing a yellow T-shirt, yellow shorts, white sneakers and a multi-colored baseball hat.

Another man was shot in his leg in Bed-Stuy at Bergen Street near Ralph Avenue in Crown Heights at around 4:58 a.m. Police said the victim was uncooperative in their investigation.

Police also said they found a 25-year-old with two gunshot wounds to his abdomen inside the Linden Houses in East New York at around 7:30 a.m. He was immediately taken to Brookdale University Hospital and Medical Center and remains in stable condition.

Manhattan

Authorities reported a man who was shot in his foot in East Harlem at around 11 p.m. Saturday and is in stable condition

Four people were also shot after a party in Harlem River Park at around 2 a.m., including two teens and a woman who were taken to Harlem Hospital Center also in stable condition.

A fourth man was taken to Mount Sinai St. Luke's Hospital with a gunshot wound to his foot, and was soon arrested in connection to the shooting along with two other suspects.

Queens

The first reported fatal shooting was of Jason Bragg, 33, who police found in front of a Queens home in Cambria Heights. Bragg, who lived in the Bronx, suffered a gunshot to his head, investigators said.

Staten Island

A 42-year-old man remained in critical condition on Sunday after a shot to his face in front of his New Dorp home at around 3 a.m. Officers said the victim got into a verbal argument with an unidentified man who proceeded to shoot the victim. No arrest has been made yet, police said.
