UPDATE: The Harvard Crimson is reporting that Andrew Sun has died due to the injuries he sustained Sunday morning, when he fell from a building on Atlantic Avenue in Boston.

Earlier: A Harvard University student is not expected to recover after falling from a building on Sunday.

Andrew Sun, a member of the class of 2016, was on life support Sunday night at Massachusetts General Hospital. He was not expected to recover from his injuries, according to an email sent to members of Sun's dorm at the school.

 

“I’m writing with the sad news that Andrew’s doctors said his injuries are too severe for him to recover. He is on life support but likely only has a matter of hours left,” Pforzheimer House acting Resident DeanGabriel A.Katsh wrote in an email to residents, the Harvard Crimson reported.

Sun was injured when he fell from an off-campus building early Sunday morning. WBZ reportedthe address as 240 Atlantic Ave. in Boston. Sun reportedly fell seven stories.

He underwent surgery at Massachusetts General Hospital for “extremely serious injuries” but had to be put on life support, the Crimson reported. Friends and family have visited Sun at the hospital over the last day.

"Our thoughts are with Andrew, his family and friends," Harvard spokesman Colin Manning told multiple outlets. "This is a very difficult time for the entire Harvard community."
