Transit Police have located and arrested a man they said berated and swore at a little girl on the Red Line Monday after the release of surveillance video led to a series of tips.
Calvin White, 40 of Boston is accused of harassing the young child, who was not known to him, then assaulting a man who tried to intervene.
Police said White also allegedly assaulted an MBTA worker who tried to help the male victim.
A surveillance video of the suspect was released to the public Wednesday in the hope of identifying him.
White will be charged with two counts of assault and battery and disorderly conduct. It is expected White will be arraigned sometime this afternoon at Boston Municipal Court-Central Division.
