A Boston EMT is expected to appear in court Tuesday to answer charges stemming from an alleged assault.
Juan Rivas, 34, of Roxbury, has been charged with assaulting his domestic partner, according to the Suffolk district attorney’s office. He is due to be arraigned at Dorchester Municipal Court.
Authorities did not provide details of the alleged assault, but did say that it took place while Rivas was off duty.
A statement from the city’s public health commission, which oversees Boston EMS, said that officials were notified over the weekend about the arrest and put Rivas on administrative leave pending an investigation.
