A Dorchester woman is due in court Wednesday morning after she allegedly hit a mother and her 7-year-old child, killing the young girl.
Olivia Mora, 36, was charged with motor vehicle homicide and driving under the influence after Tuesday’s crash, Boston police said. She was expected to be arraigned in Dorchester District Court.
The fatal crash happened just after 2 p.m. near 43 Olney St. in Dorchester, police said.
When officers arrived they found a white SUV on the sidewalk. The mother and the young girl who were injured were being treated by Boston EMS crews.
The girl was taken to Boston Medical Center where she later died. The 26-year-old mother was also taken to Boston Medical Center for injuries that were not considered life-threatening.
