Two men will be in court on Monday for their alleged roles in the city’s latest murder.

Boston police arrested Omar Bonner, 26, of Hyde Park and Omar Denton, 29, of Milton, for murder, gun possession and resisting arrest, police said. They are scheduled to be arraigned in Dorchester District Court.

Officers were called to 7 Havelock St. in Dorchester just before 2 a.m. Saturday for a report of a shooting. When officers arrived they found a man in his 20s lying on the ground suffering from gunshot wounds. The man, identified late Sunday as Romeo McCubbin, 25, of Boston, was pronounced dead at the scene.

A detective in the area of the shooting noticed a SUV driving away from the area at a high rate of speed. Th detective followed the car to a home in Dorchester and with back-up units arriving, told the people to get out of the car. Both the driver and passenger, Bonner and Denton, fled, but were later arrested by officers, police said.

Police said they recovered two guns near the arrest scene.

Based on their investigation, police charged Bonner and Denton for the murder.
