A Somerville woman was pulled from the waters near an East Boston park early Tuesday morning, and authorities are investigating her death.

State, Boston and Massport police responded to the docks near Piers Park in East Boston about 4:45 a.m., according to the Suffolk district attorney’s office.

The 53-year-old woman, who was not identified, fell into the water in the early morning hours after a night out with her husband, authorities said, citing a preliminary investigation. The couple had been living on their boat together during the summer.

Authorities said the husband went into the water to rescue her, performed CPR and called 911.

There were no signs of physical trauma, but investigators were awaiting the results of an autopsy.

Authorities did not immediately say if the death was suspicious or accidental. Detectives are investigating.
