[UPDATE] Vandals damage Philadelphia school buses

A total of 21 Philadelphia school buses were damaged by vandals while parked at a lot in Northeast Philadelphia over the weekend.

UPDATE, 8:47 a.m.: Philadelphia police say a total of 31 school buses were damaged while parked at a Woodhaven Road lot on Sunday.

The vandalism spree occurred sometime between 6 and 6:30 p.m. Sunday, police spokeswoman Officer Christine O'Brien said. The damage to the buses included shattered windshields and side windows, as well as displaced windshield wipers.

A damage estimate is not yet available.

Damage to the buses parked on the 3800 block of Woodhaven Road was discovered about 7 p.m. Sunday, 6ABC Action News reports.

The buses' windows were smashed out.
