A Peabody man was busted attempting to break into a Woburn home thanks to a video camera that recorded the entire incident.

Jacqueline Duffy had previously had her home broken into, so she decided the best way to monitor things was to set up a video camera, she told the Wolford Patch.

The video showed a man attempting to squeeze through the window next to an air conditioning unit. He was scared off by the motion sensors.

Police say Charles Derochemont, 35, of Peabody confessed to climbing through the window.

“Watching the footagebrought out a flood of different emotions,” Duffy told the Woburn Patch. “I was upset that someone would invade our home, relieved that the security system worked and thought it was a bit funny the way he squeezed in. I have no idea who the man is, nor do I want to ‘meet’ him again.”

Duffy uploaded the incident to Youtubeto keep other first-floor residents aware of the fact that burglars can climb in through their windows.
