A man walked into a Bronx sandwich shop with a gun already pointed at employees over the weekend left before he could get any money, police said.
Authorities are still on the lookout for the unidentified failed robbery suspect who stepped into the Subway restaurant on Longwood Avenue and Southern Boulevard on Saturday evening.
The armed man flashed a gun as he entered the restaurant at around 10:30 p.m., aiming its muzzle towards the restaurant's staff behind the counter.
After less than 45 seconds of holding up the store, however, video surveillance showed the suspect calmly puts his gun down, readjust his hat and walk out empty handed.
There were no reported injuries, investigators added.
While security tape from inside the Subway shows him wearing a pink-hued T-shirt, surveillance taken from surrounding cameras outside indicate a wardrobe change into a white T-shirt.
Cops otherwise described the suspect as a Hispanic male, approximately 5-feet-8-inches tall with a black beard and short black hair. He was last seen wearing black pants, a compression sleeve on his right arm and what appeared to be a bucket hat.
Police are asking anyone with information to contact Crime Stoppers at 800-577-TIPS or to submit tips online.
